Destin Family Photographer-
Well, it has been way too long since my last personal post! I would be lying if I said my lack of personal posts had been a result of being busy. While I have been busy, I just sort of felt like I lost myself there for a little bit. Behind the scenes of every photography business are many ups and downs. As a creative person those ups and downs take a toll on me. I recently saw a post on Facebook that stopped me in my tracks and made me think.
“If you find yourself asking yourself (and your friends), “Am I really a writer? Am I really an artist?” chances are you are. The counterfeit innovator is wildly self confident. The real one is scared to death.” – Steven Pressfield
Well, that’s me. The scared to death one. While I don’t want to go into all of the details of the ups and downs of my business I can say, that for a while there I was afraid that I may have to just give this business up. Not because I don’t feel comfortable in my art. I do. I mainly felt like throwing in the towel due to things I cannot control. I know I’m being vague and I apologize for that. What I am trying to share is that I’ve had a change of heart. I won’t be throwing all that I have worked for to the wind. I will be taking 2014 by storm this year, and I wanted you all to be the first to know. :) I’ve hired people to take care of the things that I can’t control, and I am happy to say that I have an amazing team that is on my side. Watch our for some wonderful new announcements here. There are many BIG things in store, and this will be my go to place for the latest news for Nichole Burnett Photography and things about me in general. ;) Thank you for reading. xo
Ps. I forgot to talk about the images above! That is my gorgeous Lyla. Hasn’t she grown up so much? These images of her are my new favs, but rest assured. I will be taking many more of her and sharing them with you all here. Also, that gorgeous star crown is a soon to be released product by the fabulous Lori Marie of Pretty Little Things! Feel free to check out her shop here. x
