Destin, Florida Photographer-
This last year has been a whirlwind of traveling for me and my family. I’ve gone to Australia (which was beyond amazing) and traveled the USA with my husband and children. Every where we traveled, we hit up Google for things to do, and places to see. With that, I thought about all of my lovely out of town clients that may be wondering themselves what there is to do in this gorgeous little city I live in. So here are my top 5 things to do with children on the Emerald Coast in no particular order. Enjoy!
The Beach! Well, this is a given. Everyone who visits Destin is here for the beach so I’ll be a little more specific. :) Henderson Beach in Destin is great beach to go to with your family. It’s typically not as busy as a public beach, which can be nice when trying to keep an eye on your little ones. :)
The Village at Baytowne Wharf in Sandestin. This is one of my favorite places to take my family. In the Spring and Summer, there are so many activities to enjoy such as Blast Arcade, the Carousel, the playground, and so much more! In the winter I love going to the ice skating rink (yes! we love to ice skate in Florida!) it’s definitely a treat for us beach bums. Also the array of Restaurants to choose from makes this a perfect spot to spend a lot of time. :)
Fat Daddy’s Pizza and Fudpuckers. Fat Daddy’s Pizza and arcade is a nice treat for those rainy days or when you need a break from the sand. The Pizza is delish and the games are great for children of all ages. I listed Fudpuckers as well, because it’s an awesome place to eat and it’s next door to Fat Daddy’s pizza. My children get such a kick out of the alligator feedings and the playground in the middle of the Restaurant. The Squashed Crab soup is super yum too!
Big Kahunas and The Track. Sometimes it’s just nice to play on waterslides which is why I love Big Kahunas. If you are water logged then head on over to The Track. There are so many fun activities you’ll just have to trust me when I say it’s fun. :)
Finally, the last place on my Top 5 List is the Gulfarium on Okaloosa Island. I know it’s not technically Destin, BUT it’s close and it’s fun! It’s a great place to see dolphins up close and other marine animals. Check out their website here! Your children will absolutely love this place and I’m pretty sure you will too! :)
